Hat and gloves go together like tea and cookies

With all these adorable hat patterns, I thought we could use some cute gloves to go with them.  I haven’t tried these yet but once I’ve caught up on all the baby booties I said I would do, I may give these a shot in colours to match the Minion hat.

Pretty in Pink Fingerless Gloves

Materials:

5.00 Crochet Hook

4.50 Crochet Hook

100g 8ply Yarn

Tapestry or Yarn Needle

Scissors

Size:

Fits all

{Just measure the starting chains to fit around you wrist snug, but not to tight}

Instructions:

Cuff:

Start by making a Slip Knot with your 5.00 crochet hook. Chain 13 Chain Stitches, then Single Crochet into the second chain from your hook. Single crochet in every chain till you reach the end. Chain 2 and single crochet into the next stitch. When crocheting into the stitches only go through the front loop only.

Make as many rows of single crochets as you need to so that it fits snugly around your wrist.

When you’ve made as many rows as you need, Slip Stitch them together, then turn it inside out.

Left Hand:

Row 1~ Switch over to your 4.50 crochet hook. Chain 1, then single crochet evenly around the side of the cuff. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 2~ Chain 1, crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches (This is known as an increase.) Crochet single crochets around the rest of the cuff. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 3~ Chain 1, crochet a single crochet in the first stitch, then crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Crochet single crochets all around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 4~ Chain 1, crochet a single crochet in the first 2 stitches, then crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Crochet single crochets all around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 5~ Chain 1, crochet a single crochet in the first 3 stitches, then crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Crochet single crochets all around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 6-10~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets all around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 11~ Chain 5, skip 11 stitches and single crochet a single crochet in the 12th stitch. (Thumb hole made. If you have bigger thumbs you might want to add an extra chain or two) Single crochet all around, but do not join.

Row 12-19~ Single crochet all around the cuff. When you get to where the thumb hole is, do not crochet around the thumb hole. Instead crochet in the 5 chains you made before.

Slip stitch and fasten off.

Right Hand:

Row~  Switch over to your 4.50 crochet hook. Chain 1, then single crochet evenly around the side of the cuff. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 2~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets in all the stitches, except the last two stitches. In them you need to crochet 2 single crochets in each of those 2 stitches (This is known as an increase.) Join with a slip stitch. (You are basically mirroring what you did on the Left Hand)

Row 3~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets in all the stitches. When you get to the last 3 stitches you need to crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Then crochet a single crochet. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 4~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets in all the stitches. When you get to the last 4 stitches you need to crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Then crochet a single crochet in the last 2 stitches. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 5~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets in all the stitches. When you get to the last 5 stitches you need to crochet 2 single crochets in the next 2 stitches. Then crochet a single crochet in the last 3 stitches. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 6-10~ Chain 1, crochet single crochets all around. Join with a slip stitch.

Row 11~  Chain one, crochet single crochets all around the cuff till there is only 12 stitches left. Chain 5, then skip 11 stitches and single crochet into the 12th stitch (aka last stitch). (Thumb hole made. If you have bigger thumbs you might want to add an extra chain or two) Join with a slip stitch.

Row 12-19~ Single crochet all around the cuff. When you get to where the thumb hole is, do not crochet around the thumb hole. Instead crochet in the 5 chains you made before.

Slip stitch and fasten off.
